Printing
A durable and flexible alternative to paper and PVC
Printing on nonwoven offers several advantages compared to other types of materials. It is, for example, more durable than paper and kinder to the environment than PVC. Nonwovens that are adapted for printing have low elongation, which is a prerequisite for being able to be efficiently fed into the printing process. The material can be corona trJOhan Georgssob, VDeated, which increases the adhesion and print quality in several common printing techniques.
Strong and water resistant
Nonwoven has a longer lifespan than most paper products and is particularly suitable for outdoor printing applications, for example large format printing or blueprints, maps and security envelopes that must withstand outdoor conditions.
The material can whitstand tough conditions – even in a wet environment without negative impact on the print or the function of the material.
Precision for the printing process
HDPE nonwoven can be corona treated for optimal adhesion and has low extensibility to be easily fed into the printing process. It is possible to get nonwoven either on a roll or in sheets.
The material can be printed with both traditional and digital printing techniques.
More climate sutainable than PVC
HDPE nonwoven is a more climate friendly alternative to PVC. It can also be taken down,
stored, moved and reused more easily because it is less bulky and often lighter than other materials.
PVC is a greater burden on the environment. HDPE is recyclable.
Control the properties
Nonwoven can be treated in different ways to control the properties. Of course, it can be corona treated for better adhesive qualities, but also to withstand, for example, UV light or prevent static electricity.
Examples of printed nonwoven products:
- Maps
- Drawings or blueprints
- Security envelope
- Bags
- Wristbands for theme parks, water parks and festivals
- Outdoor prints (advertising, information, signs)
- Wallpapers
